Cutting Supplement Ship Times From Four Days to One
- DTC Fulfillment
- FBA Prep
- Lot & Expiry Tracking

The Challenge
Northbeam was packing every order in-house. As monthly volume passed 6,000 units, orders placed on a Friday often did not leave until the following Wednesday. Expiration dates were tracked on a spreadsheet, so older lots regularly shipped after newer ones — triggering customer complaints and two near-miss Amazon compliance flags.
- No FIFO rotation on dated inventory
- Poly bagging and suffocation labels applied inconsistently
- Founder spending roughly 20 hours a week in the warehouse
What We Did
We onboarded Northbeam across two weeks, receiving their existing inventory and rebuilding it as lot-tracked SKUs.
- Lot and expiry control. Every receipt is booked against a lot number with an expiry date, and picks default to oldest-first.
- Compliant prep. Poly bagging, suffocation warnings and expiration labeling standardized against Amazon and retailer requirements.
- Same-day cutoff. Orders received before 2pm CT ship the same business day.
- Bundle kitting. Their three-month starter kit became a single sellable unit rather than a hand-assembled order.
The Outcome
Within the first full month, average dispatch time fell from 4.1 days to 0.8 days and expiry-related returns went to zero. The founder stepped out of daily operations entirely and used the recovered time to launch two new SKUs.
“We went from packing boxes until midnight to not touching inventory at all. The lot tracking alone would have been worth the move.”
